Midwife Theresa Shaver, Director of the White Ribbon Alliance, received an International Health award from the American Public Health Association (APHA) in November 2006.

The APHA recognised that Theresa has dedicated her professional career and personal life to making pregnancy, delivery and motherhood a safe and life-enhancing experience for women throughout the world.
