New co-chair appointed to ICM Research Standing Committee.

ICM is delighted to announce that Holly Powell Kennedy, CNM, PhD, FACNM has become the new co-chair of the Research Standing Committee (RSC) to join Professor Jane Sandall, following Kathy Herschderfer's move to be Secretary General of the ICM.

Holly is currently Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, USA, in the Department of Family Health Care Nursing where she co-directs the nurse-midwifery education programme. She is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM), has served on the ACNM Division of Research since 1998 and became its Chair in 2004. She has been the USA representative to the ICM Research Standing Committee since 2000.

Among other work for the RSC, Holly co-authored the article 'Conducting international research in midwifery', which was based on the proceedings of a research workshop held in Vienna, 2002, and was published in International Midwifery 2003; 16: 18-20.
