Ethiopian midwives focus on prevention of mother-to-child transmission of infection and reproductive health rights.

Sister Kiros Kebede, President of the Ethiopian Nurse Midwives Association, reports on a series of study days held November 16-18, 2004. The two subjects of the days were 'Prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT)', and 'Sexual and reproductive health rights'. The day on PMTCT was sponsored by Intra-Health International and consisted of lectures, video showings, discussion and group work.
