As the issues of professional regulation become more complex and interrelated. and in response to requests from regulators, the International Confederation of Midwives and the International Council of Nurses have agreed to establish a forum to facilitate discussion and exchange amongst individuals who are currently responsible for nursing and midwifery professional regulation at national level in Boards, Councils or within government departments.

The first meeting of the Regulators Forum will take place in Madrid, Spain, 26-27 November 2005, following the meeting of the ICN Credentialing Forum on 23-25 November.
