Five midwives in New Zealand were judged 'outstanding' by an expert panel, including consumer representatives from the National Committee of the NZ College of Midwives, in a new award designed to recognise excellence in midwifery care. Winners Sharon Weir, Jo Coulter, Ana Navidad and Jude Bruce are shown above with Karen Guilliland of NZCOM. Liz MacLeod, from Merivale Midwives, Christchurch, also won an award.
