The Ghana Registered Midwives' Association (GRMA) has sent a report of activity to ICM, which includes their celebration of the International Day of the Midwife. This was held later than usual, owing to the sad occasion on May 5 of the funeral of Dr Benedicta Ababio, a colleague and benefactor of the GRMA.

However, the midwives of the Northern Region in due course hosted a most successful day, starting with a parade to the music of a brass band.
