The UNFPA State of the World Population Report 2004 finds that gender gaps as well as those between rich and poor undermine advances made since the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo. The report looks at implementation of programmes adopted in Cairo focusing on reproductive health, family planning and efforts to reduce poverty.
