The ICM is participating as an international consultant in the Canadian 'Collaborative Primary Maternity Care' project that aims to reduce key barriers and facilitate the implementation of national multidisciplinary collaborative primary maternity care strategies.

The international portion of the project, carried out by the ICM, is designed to provide information from existing collaborative models of maternity care in Europe and Australia. The aim is to address the question of how the models of primary maternity, care in these countries are functioning, for example in the following areas:

* regulatory issues

* scope of practice

* remuneration

* methods of transfer of documentation and information between professionals.
